"He Sapa Tatanka”
by Nancy Cambier

Black tourmaline, garnets, and black mica adorn this majestic bull.  Tourmaline has been used by Native Americans as a protective stone.  When used with mica, it is said to be able to return negative energy from whence it came.  This buffalo represents the beautiful Black Hills and specifically Custer State Park with it’s amazing rock formations and the outstanding qualities of semi-precious stones found in abundance in this land.  One side of the buffalo features Sylvan Lake, the other an evening view of the Cathedral Spires.
